Create A Photo Book

Step-by-step Guide

1

The basics of how to create a photo book are available in our 101 book creation video guide. To find out how to add photos, use autofill, add / remove pages and more, watch the video now.

2

Before you personalise your photo book, please ensure you are happy with the photo book size and cover. Once you are in the photo book builder, these cannot be changed.

3

In the left hand navigation of the photo book builder, you'll see the "Photos" icon. Use it to bring in photos to use in your photo book, maintain the project photos or access "Autofill".

4

Use the "Layouts" icon to define a photo layout for page or the entire photo book. Click on your desired layout and it'll be applied to the page. To change a layout, click on the shuffle button, select a new one or edit the existing one.

- A layout is an arrangement of photo frames and text boxes.

- You can apply a layout to any page of the book, even the front cover.

5

There are many ways you can edit a layout. You can:

- Add additional photos by dragging & dropping photos from the photo well.

- Edit the size, orientation or place of the photos in the layout by clicking on any photo and using the edit toolbar.

- Edit a layout by deleting photos. When you delete a photo from a layout, note that its frame or container remains on the page. You can remove the frame by using the “Delete” button on your keyboard.

- You can see photos removed from a layout appear as unchecked thumbnails in the photo well. This helps recognise which photos in the well are used and which are not.

6

When you are editing layouts, note the dotter border around the edge of the page. This is the printing safe zone. Any photos, text or embellishments outside of this line will not be printed.

7

Use the "Designs" icon for choice of a different set of designs for a page or the entire book.

- A design is a combination of different layouts, embellishments and backgrounds.

- Beware that if you change a design you may lose your edits. It's best to decide on your design before making too many edits. If you accidentally apply a design you do not like, just hit the "Undo" button.

8

You can use the Backgrounds tool to change the background on a page. Backgrounds include colours, textures, patterns and collections.

9

Unleash your creativity in the "Embellishments" tab with over 3,000 embellishments for you to choose from.

- Embellishments help you get creative with your photo book.

- Similarly to a photo, you can resize, rotate, delete or move an embellishment around the photo book page. You can also change the order of an embellishment by moving it to the back or front of the page.

- Note the bright pink lines when you are moving the embellishments around the page. These help you to align your embellishments.

10

You can add text to your photo book projects from the "Text" tab and choice of over 40 font options! You can enter and edit text, change the font size, font colour and overlay a mix of fonts to make your message stand out.

11

Save your photo book project and keep saving the changes while you are working on your photo book.

12

Click "Review & Buy" to see how your photobook will print.

- Always review your photo book from cover to cover including the spine before you order.

13

When you are happy with your photo book creation, click "Add To Cart" and proceed to checkout to purchase your photo book.

- If this is your first purchase, you might be prompted to enter your delivery address before you can see the photo book in your cart.
